Fair play to Matt Le Tissier; if I was kept out of the England squad by Carlton Palmer I’d believe in conspiracy theories too.

Which is why The Labour Party must sort out social care funding as early as possible when they get a landslide. Once we have taxpayer commitment to funding social care (the clue here is *care*) the Tories will feel insurance is too toxic (as in the case of NHS)

'No Country for Old Men' (2007) is a perfect film. As perfect as a film can be, at least. Despite a modest budget, tight 2hr runtime, and no score it feels heavy, expansive, and complete. I've read more about NCFOM than any other film, here are some things I found interesting:

UK universities make money from foreign students, and use it to subsidise UK students and research. UK students are doing degrees that they chose, judging them to be worthwhile. Fewer foreign students means fewer UK students. There is no fixed lump of studying.

I’ve been saying for ages that the main reason productivity is so low in this country (and why we’re so poor compared to other similar economies) is because EVERYTHING in this god forsaken country goes straight into property.

Innovation isn’t in the modern British state of mind.
