World Water Day concluded with a symbolic rally to the Ganga Ghat and a special World Renowned Ganga Aarti with ' #WaterforPeace ' messages at sunset. Casper Mayland, Environment Counselor, Denmark in India addressed the gathering reiterating the Indo-Danish cooperation on water.

In her keynote address, Chief Guest, Hon. Smt Ritu Khanduri Bhushan (Modi Ka parivar), Speaker of the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, Govt of Uttarakhand shared that women spend at least 16 hrs every day collecting water for the family & how Jal Jeevan Mission I #HarGharJal has improved the ease of living for women in the state.

In his address, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Mishra , Former DG, of the National Mission for Clean Ganga, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India stressed on the four R's - Reduce, Reuse,& Recycle as well as Respect for water. A water-secure world ensures prosperity and peace will follow.

A powerful pledge & call to action was given by HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, President, Parmarth Niketan & Founder, Global Interfaith WASH Alliance which was received with a standing ovation by the participants & youth. #worldwaterday2024
