Bert Dawes was born OTD in 1907

A prolific goalscorer for Northampton and Palace, he became Town’s record signing in 1936 and helped win promotion to the 2nd Division. Would later work as a Met Policeman.

The last time was in Feb 1995 when a 6-0 FA Cup defeat to Southampton was followed by a 5-0 league loss to Grimsby.

First time we've ever lost consecutive matches 5-1.

In lighter news, Luke Berry has become only the 14th player to score in multiple Football League games in 6 or more seasons for the Hatters.

The only time he has failed to do so was in 2019/20.

Ricky Hill and Gordon Turner share the record at 13 seasons.

Berry also moves into the top 100 Luton goalscorers of all time, level on 26 goals with Steve White and George Butcher.

He's one behind David Preece, Lars Elstrup, Stuart Fleetwood, Lil Fuccillo, Steve Davis, Claude Gnakpa and Mark Stein, amongst others.
