One of my mentors says 'anyone can cut, but only a few can be surgeons'.

What he meant is that surgery isn't just the operation. It is all ten RACS competencies.

Please don't anyone ever waste their time listening for bowel sounds to tell me about them.... I don't want to hear it as part of your surgical referral.... It's entirely useless to me, Thanks

Sorry I wasn't there to see this debate as someone who truly wants to be a general surgeon but had been prevented from being one by our current training paths... 😔
