The final Your Heroes finalist film of 2023 celebrates 811 children & young people. North Staffs Young Carers were highly commended in the Carer of the Year category of Your Heroes. Your Heroes is organised Staffordshire Uni and sponsored Stoke-on-Trent CC. The awards will be back in 2024

Leeanne Clay & Zara Toussaint are nurses who, while working in intensive care, realised something needed to change to allow children to be part of the end of loved ones’ lives. They set up Windmills, which provides bereavement support. They were highly commended at Your Heroes.

As a mum of four children with additional needs Michelle Craggs struggled to find the right parent support group – so she set it up herself. She’s run PEGIS for eight years. Michelle was highly commended in the Charity Champion or Volunteer of the Year category of Your Heroes.

Ashley Mellor is the founder & director of Staffordshire Choirs Association which runs 30 choirs including three non-auditioned community choirs to open the joy of singing to anyone. He was highly commended in the Charity Champion or Volunteer of the Year category of Your Heroes.

Run by carers for carers, the Foster Carers Association supports foster families across Stoke-on-Trent. It was highly commended in the Community Group of the Year category at the Your Heroes Awards. The Your Heroes Awards are organised at Staffordshire Uni & sponsored by Stoke-on-Trent CC

Brooke Farrall is overcoming life challenges to carve out a better future for herself and acting as a role model for others. She moved into YMCA North Staffordshire in 2022 at the age of 17. She’s volunteered with the YMCA and now has a full-time job. She was highly commended at Your Heroes.
