This photograph was recently sent to us by the company that has maintained our Phelps organ for many years. These inscriptions are on the top of the outer tower on the north side of the case where, in ordinary circumstances, no one would see them! (1/2)

The Rector & community at Hexham Abbey are devastated by the shocking death of one of our young people.

Following evensong at Hexham Abbey, Bishop Helen-Ann reflects on her day touring our Diocese and looks forward to becoming the next Bishop of Newcastle.

With profound sadness at news of the passing of HM The Queen, the Abbey remains open this evening until 9pm. Everyone of all faiths and none are welcome to light a candle and sit in quiet reflection.
We reopen at 10am tomorrow and there will be a special service at 6.30pm.

Everyone is welcome to join us for our vigil for peace this evening with Antiphon Choir which begins at 8.30pm.

Our defibrillator cabinet was in desperate need of replacing and having secured funding thanks to Hexham Town Council, The Rotary club of Tynedale, Hexham Rotary, and Tynedale Lions Club, we have the new cabinet in situ!
Our thanks also to Burncliffe Electrical Ltd. for fitting it free of charge.

On this International Women's Day, we give thanks for Saint Etheldreda, for her generosity, vision and leadership. As we remember her, we give thanks too for all women who continue in her footsteps.
