Yesterday, Nursery and Reception took part in 'Beep Beep Day' to raise awareness of road safety and to raise funds for Brake, the road safety charity!

Year 3 have looked at the difference between ‘beat’ and ‘rhythm’. Children clapped out the rhythm and then played this piece of music noticing that some notes were 2 beats, some were 1 beat and some were 1 or 2 beat rests. #musicakirklees

At Hill View we are beginning a project with Modeshift STARS at Kirklees Council to help us think about how our children travel to school and to ensure safe parking around the neighbouring streets. Our new signs are working well to remind parents to drive and park safely.

Year 1 + 3 visited Yorkshire Sculpture Park this week to observe sculptures linked to their study of Calder and Miro. They were shocked by the scale of the artwork! #thearts #experiences #aspirations

Our Wellbeing Evening (alongside our Parents' Evening) is well underway! Lots of representatives from local services/clubs for our parents to speak to for advice and further information.

We are delighted to have been accepted to receive a grant of £1000 to improve and sustain our 'Breakfast in The Nest' nurture breakfast club.

Breakfast in The Nest helps some of our children to have a successful transition into school each morning.

Thanks to parent donations we are sending £80 to Comic Relief after our 'Wear something red' day!

A visit to Almondbury Playgroup today to meet a child who will be joining us after Easter and to speak to her key workers.

Building relationships with the local community and ensuring positive transitions when children join our school!

On Monday 18th March, we are looking forward to our annual wellbeing event which we will hold alongside out Parents' Evening.

A number of agencies and services will be present, all of whom parents can access in our community.
