Incredible that the Garrick managed to maintain this secret rule that none of its members knew about until the Guardian reported on it

It's important that reports like this one from BBC News (UK) tell people how much the Rwanda scheme is actually costing us. It's not £3k. Eg. IPPR estimates £228k. People deserve to know how much extra this Government is willing to pay to be this cruel. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…

Two great pieces of writing advice I've received from wise women: a story is long as it needs to be, even if that is long. Efficiency is the enemy of art. Holding both close.

Oh look 👇

Rwandan opposition leader 'banned from standing for election' or even leaving the country to visit her ill husband - all this, amazingly, despite UK declaring it a 'safe country'

Btw The Guardian is it still OK for you, legally, to even print stuff like this now ? 🤡

It's arrived! We've kept this book as short, compact and easy to read as possible. We believe everyone needs to understand exactly how we have been stitched up and what we can do about it.

Excellent blog, summarising the seemingly cynical flaws in Ofcom's research. When GBNews began, I gave Ofcom the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong. It's clearly not fit for purpose.

So, Nigel Farage - one of the founders & owners of Reform UK - can present an “impartial” programme on a TV “news” channel during the general election according to the broadcasting regulator @ofcom. The leader of the party Richard Tice 🇬🇧 & its only MP Lee Anderson MP can

I'm away so can't write at length, but the Rwanda Bill is a shameful piece of legislation: both for what it does & for how it does it.

Instructing the courts that falsehoods are truths is not what healthy democracies do - & misunderstands the history of parliamentary sovereignty

Happy St George's Day everyone. A day to celebrate a Greek Roman soldier who never visited England.
Also a day to regret the passing of the that would probably apply to St George if he came looking for asylum from the threat of crucifixion for his Christian faith.

Good news.
But let's not forget that this Conservative Gov actually tried to imprison this woman simply for holding up a sign with the words: 'have an absolute right to acquit a defendant according to your conscience', a principle enshrined in British law for centuries.
