British troops arrived at Neuengamme on 4 May '45. By this time, the Nazis had erased all evidence of their crimes in the camp. It is estimated that more than 50,000 people died at Neuengamme.

Tonight, the Commission of the Status of Women agreed its conclusions on advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women & girls in addressing poverty.

It highlights gender responsive financing, and for the first time, called on states to address economic abuse.

At #CSW68 , 🇮🇪 UN Youth Delegate Alicia O’Sullivan delivered a statement on the nexus between advancing gender equality & addressing women’s poverty.

Alicia called for collaboration among nations to end intimidation, harassment, & violence against women, particularly online 🛜

First day of #CSW68 included some great discussions around women’s economic empowerment and financing to achieve gender equality. Met with WorkingGrouponGirls and also SIHA Network. I also got to sit in on the 9574th Security Council meeting on Promoting Conflict Prevention.

The 68th Commission on the Status of Women is underway in New York.
