Couldn't agree more with Tom Pollard on the counterproductive nature of the current conditionality regime, and is exactly what Katy Jones and I found through our own research in this area: mmu.ac.uk/sites/default/…
Excellent talk from my Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study colleague Rebecca Florisson here at #ILPC2024 in Göttingen, Germany this morning: fascinating findings around how engagement with #insecurework during the early career stage affects UK workers’ longer-term employment trajectories and outcomes.

Had a great time speaking at #BritSoc24 this morning about some of our preliminary findings for the Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study project: or rather watching myself speak, as the talk was recorded a few weeks ago! A really interesting model for academic conferences.
Great to see the third round of the Oliver Bird Fund launched this week by our Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study funder Nuffield Foundation, in collaboration with Versus Arthritis: more information can be found at nuffieldfoundation.org/funding/oliver…
We'd also love to hear from employers about the challenges of designing and implementing #RemoteWorking and #HybridWorking practices. What further information and support do you need when doing this, especially when faced with a diverse workforce? Get in touch!
Incredibly important new reading on #InsecureWork this morning via the publication of the The Work Foundation and Rebecca Florisson's new #InsecureWork Index: some of the main findings summarized in the thread below, but well worth reading in full for yourself, too: lancaster.ac.uk/work-foundatio…
#Menopause is debilitating for many of us. As someone who suffered from other types of long term chronic illnesses, the way menopause hit me just before my 45th birthday was much more severe than anything else. To ignore that is just plain sexism. theguardian.com/society/2024/f…
Great to see this paper by Charlotte Hall & colleagues covered in yesterday's The Observer: some fascinating insights to dive into, particularly in relation to our Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study project & the need to consider mental health implications in the design of #remote / #hybrid models👀
For anyone who works in, or has worked in, academia with a chronic illness, please consider taking this important survey:
Survey on experiences of working in UK academia with Energy Limiting Conditions/Chronic illness/Energy Impairment app.onlinesurveys.jisc.ac.uk/s/liverpool/pi…
See thread below
And that's officially it for stage one of our Nuffield Foundation funded Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study project fieldwork: a big thank you to everyone who has completed/promoted our survey, and/or participated in an interview with me 🙏 Now over to the brilliant Rebecca Florisson for the analysis!
