Thanks to Radisson Blu and the city of Leeds. It was a great hotel venue for the #IAMLASW meeting and it’s a city with many layers of interest.

So #IAMLASW is all done and I’m on the train homeward bound. Now I have to condense my [counts…] 27pp of notes into a 1000-word summary of the ASW. Thanks to all the IAML(UK & Ireland) team for organising, the Music Libraries Trust for a bursary, and CYM Library for further support.

Now for our final morning - cataloguing ethics & censorship, archives of women musicians, and reflections on music librarianship from a new entrant to the field and one longer-established. #IAMLASW

Fascinating short talks and discussion about cataloguing ethics, esp advisory notes on offensive terms/content. Mix of practitioner and researcher perspectives. Much food for thought, and clearly the conversation should continue - we could have gone on for another hour! #IAMLASW

Enjoyed a thoughtful talk from Sarah Lewis about her first year as a music librarian @libraryuol. She is developing a libguide for the music dissertation module - it looks very good and thorough, focusing on the learner needs rather than the resources. #IAMLASW

And the final presentation of the #IAMLASW was a breathtaking narrative by Charity Dove of her career in music libraries. Moments of comedy, musical performances, many achievements, and moments of sadness. But the spirit lives on. I can relate to this.
