The Moose certainly left it all out on the ice as their season concluded last night in Texas at the hands of the Stars.

Hard to believe that this concludes my ninth season covering the Manitoba Moose since they returned to Wpg.

This was a really good group to cover. From rookies to vets.

Perhaps the ECHL guys will head to Norfolk to join the Admirals playoff drive.

Some folks asked me about potential Moose players joining Jets for playoffs.

I could be wrong but I suspect most of team head back to Wpg for exit interviews.

None of these guys are playing over guys up with Jets (my speculation).

The Manitoba Moose put forth a heck of a 2023-24 season which we've enjoyed detailing for you all season long.

The kids were alright as many Jets prospect flourished this season.

And just like that the handshakes take place and the on ice portion ends for the 2023-24 Manitoba Moose.

Manitoba outshot Texas 41-22 this game but couldn’t solve Remi Poirier

And the Moose season comes to an end as the Stars take game 2 of their best of three play-in series by a final score of 2-0.

Heck of a season for a Manitoba team that looked completely out of it not that long ago.

Lots of great development for Jets prospects.

1:01 left in the 3rd and the Moose have an offensive zone faceoff coming up.

Need a quick goal to have a shot.

Moose net is empty for an extra attacker.

And out of it Mavrik Bourque gets a penalty shot awarded but Thomas Milic takes away the net.

That’s big as Moose need two goals in final seven minutes or their season is over.

Moose make one pass too many which leads to a Stars breakaway….

That’s not good for business as the Moose go down 2-0 early in the 3rd.

Still lots of game to go but if they want to continue their season they’ll need a big push.

Moose that close to tying the game early in the 3rd as AJF springs himself on the PK

Moose outshoot the Stars 16-11 in the middle frame but still cannot solve Texas goalie Remi Poirier.

Overall Manitoba has a 30-17 shot edge but the PP goal in the 1st by the home team gives them a 1-0 lead.

They’ll have 34 seconds left of a Viel penalty to start 3rd.
