I have declared a State of Disaster in 23 of the country’s 28 districts to feed over 2 million farming households that have been affected by El Nino spell. The Presidential Initiative to Stop Hunger calls upon all Malawians & the international community to join this noble cause.

Malawi 🇲🇼 President delacres state of disater 23 districts except Chitipa, Rumphi, Mzimba, Nkhatabay & Likoma affected by El-Nino induced dry spell. 2 million farming HH, 750,000 ha. of maize affected. 600,000 metric tonnes worth MK 357.6 billion needed to support those affected.
