Finishing a busy #StPatricksDay visit to #Kansas and #Missouri meeting with Kansas Lieutenant Governor Toland and Senators Bowers, Francisco, McGinn and O’Shea in Topeka to discuss Ireland-Kansas links. Honoured too, to have been recognised on the floor of the Kansas Senate.

As part of my visit to Kansas City I called to see the Kansas City Irish Centre, which has been supported by our Department of Foreign Affairs. Great facility for the promotion of our culture and a space for the Irish here to meet socially. 🇮🇪☘️🇺🇸☘️

Visiting ESP recipient IrishCenterKC hearing about their current activities and future plans. The Center is at the heart of the Irish community in #KansasCity and also opens its doors to other communities in the city. It serves too as a venue for touring Culture Ireland artists

Finishing the programme in #KansasCity meeting the Kansas City Sports Commission at Geha Field to hear about plans to host the men’s soccer World Cup in 2026. They will host six games including one QF. We hope Ireland Football ⚽️🇮🇪 will be one of the teams competing at the tournament

Busy day on our first day in St Louis. Met with the Mayor, City Council, former Ambassador O’Malley, Police Commissioner, reps of the business community and spoke at a function to mark the city’s 55th St Patrick’s Day parade.
