Best views I've had of Tree Pipit. Several were feeding on the ground up ahead and this individual perched up on the wood in front of us, posing until it went to join the others.

OwenE Isaiah Rowe Ooh, good question... we see a lot of hairstreaks on our tours. Purple deserves more plaudits, but Spanish Purple has a subtle charm all its own... While the eponymous Blue-spot is a snazzy beast... but then there's Provence, and surely it's game over?!

Redstarts mostly singing high from the canopy. It seems most of the territory's from last year have been filled back again, mostly by the same returning males.

Exploring the Dorset coast over the weekend, lots of seabirds active on the cliffs around Durlston.

Plenty of these strange Bloody-nosed Beetles about in Dorset, including their larvae which is definitely the most unusual larvae I’ve seen, many moving around in the open and on top of stems.
