Two simple strategies for improving as an instructional leader:

1) Get into classrooms.
2) Seek first to learn.

It's difficult to lead a school without firsthand knowledge about the teaching and learning.

I teach juniors & seniors & read to them almost daily. As we finished our final novel, one of my seniors said, “I can’t believe this is the last book anyone will ever read to me,” & I felt that in my soul. And that is why I’ll never stop reading to kids & it’s my hill to die on.
