Terrifying graph showing how warm the oceans have been this year, compared to what we’re used to (grey lines). No wonder we’re seeing corals overheating, bleaching and dying right around the planet, from the Caribbean to the Maldives to Australia. #ClimateCrisis

I just loved this insight from Julie Vercelloni that they're using the same kind of tech that's used in facial recognition to recognise corals, which then feeds into their models that help to understand climate change impacts.
Coral recognition!
Thank you Avid Research for the fun interview and giving me the chance to talk about my research - all Amelia’s podcasts are worthy to listen, vive la Science!

A special thanks to
Dr Jordan Nguyen for introducing the project so well and taking the time to learn everything about Virtual Reef Diver and our research at @ACEMathStats before the shows! Tonight again, VRD on live TV #ReefLiveAU 🎬🎥📺🍿
Join us from Australian Institute of Marine Science for Reef Geeks with Ann Jones, Emma Camp and Julie Vercelloni on Instagram Live 🐠 #ReefLiveAU

Please help VRD by uploading your reef images or classify some from our digital platform. These data are carefully analyse and integrate with other monitoring data to provide rapid and up-to-date status of reef changes for decision-making. #openaccess #CitizenScience #YouCanDoIt
