The beautiful thing here is that every book has its own feel and flavor. Do NOT sleep on this one, it’s funny and smart and great!

Character growth. Big focus of issue #2.

At least one of those mutants is in issue 1.

Great bartender. Better friend. Kinda going through his Llewelyn Davis period. That smile on the cover doesn’t last for long.

Anole’s also key to NYX as our lens on the lives of non-passing mutants in Krakoan diaspora - a big focus of issue #3, especially.

Full identity assumption - like Mystique - feels out of Kamala’s character, esp considering her origin moment.

But she has my favorite power set ever so we’re having fun discovering how far it can be pushed.

Academy X, New X-Men, Ms. Marvel and especially The New Mutant are foundational texts for what we’re doing.

Kamala’s family - particularly Aamir - plays a big role in her arc in NYX. Bruno, you’ll learn more in issue #1.

That said, by and large, our focus will be on Kamala’s life on NYC.

He's trying something new.

In more ways than one.

Oh, she will.

But will she be glad she did?

Time will tell.

This isn't a 'set roster' kind of book. These are our point of view characters for each of the first five issues - but we'll be expanding both cast and perspective as the story builds beyond.

Thank you, Gary. FWIW: the lineup is only for our core five. This book has a much larger cast than the cover can hold - we're not a team book, we're an exploration of community.

And I love what Iman and Sabir have done with the character as she investigates her intersectionality - her return to the classic look is meant to continue that conversation.

So would I! We're determined to stand in our own light for the first arc, but Zig's a great writer and Miles is never far from our thoughts.
