When I talk to shop owners in Halesowen & Rowley Regis, one of their biggest concerns is often the threat of assault on them or a colleague. Making the assault of a retail worker a stand-alone offence will send a clear signal that this behaviour is unacceptable.

Today we’re uprating the State Pension by 8.5 per cent meaning pensioners will be £900 better off.

This comes on top of last year’s 10.1 per cent increase and our commitment to the Triple Lock.
