A few things recently argued that more efficient rationing is a solution to the housing crisis. It's dubious that even helps affordability - but even if it does, that fails to address the other crisis - British homes are bad.

2/ Did some rough-and-ready crunching of numbers to get the following tallies. Let me know if you think these are unfair/wrong. It feels (and reads like) one was written in close cooperation with LOTO (in anticipation of a hoped-for Labour Government) and the other, less so....

This is an important point about temporary accommodation that I don't see made often enough. It's not just bad for the people in it - it's funded completely differently from other housing, and a way that's deeply unfair to local authorities.

Great to see our 'damning report' covered in the Telegraph today. The Right to Buy is lovely for those who get to buy homes at a huge discount. But leaves others unable to access social housing.

Government finally admits what has been known for some time - the grant rates being offered for Affordable Homes weren't sufficient to cope with rising construction costs and rising interest rates. So the programme won't build the planned 180,000 new homes.
