Will won the award for his strong and supportive connection to the Club’s Community Programme work and his wider charitable commitments including the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and the role he played in making the Baton of Hope relay for #suicideprevention possible.

Baton of Hope co-founder Mike McCarthy said: 'I am lucky enough to have spent time with Will who is a true role model for his club and for the world of football as a whole. He is also an all-round likeable and caring guy.'

Will has been named EFL Championship Player in the Community for a third time for his outstanding contribution to community projects. This includes his warm & unwavering support for the Baton of Hope, which he carried during the charity’s visit to Sheffield during the 2023 tour.
