This is a really important discussion that's had with the person and the carer/family member on the Home Based Memory Rehabilitation programme and it's a top tip that is relevant at any stage of Dementia. It's about optimising conditions to function as well as possible ♥️

tern There's a GP, Dr Martin Brunet.

He's usually calm and reassuring. Non-political and empathetic. He has published a message to the Prime Minister. And you can hear, underneath, how angry he is.

I’m happy my tax money is used to provide financial support to those who are too unwell to work. I’m also more than happy to pay taxes on the premise that if I’m one of the unlucky ones who can’t work due to ill health I will be financially supported

It’s called civilisation

Fantastic story about a therapist role (play therapist in this case) in addressing the complex impact of health problems on the 'whole' child (person). I can really sense the powerful use of therapeutic self through play not just about 'play' itself.Specialist skills of therapy👍

This. You wait until continence is a problem as well as any additional limitations like frailty and see how much you like going out. A lack of inaccessibility is a major deprivation (of a meaningful life) and undermines all the sound preventative physical and brain health advice

Afternoon with the best Dementia care in-patient OTs and OT support workers planning something REALLY exciting. Evidence based activity programmes using standardised, strength-based outcome measures coming soon. Their knowledge and skills are just 5⭐🙌

Activities aren't just good for us for our mental wellbeing, it's about the cognitive stimulation. If it's something you enjoy and can build mastery then it adds huge psychological benefits. This is no less important post Dementia diagnosis. Really important 👍👍👍
