iPhone : Hey, if “Knuck if you Buck” is your protest song. Please be aware that LIL JAY onthetrack, the producer is a Trump supporter. (His IG is Lil_Jay_onthetrack).

Also, Killa C, the last verse on the song, was found guilty of molesting his then 6 year old brother.

iPhone : All of it falls short until we, as men, are no longer passively engaged in feminist resistance; a resistance where we begin by identifying the misogynoir within, not only when it’s overt, but particularly when it is covert and subtle.

iPhone : Voicing our support of Black women is necessary, but not sufficient. Amplifying the voices of the Black women in our lives, is necessary but not sufficient. Chanting “protect Black women at all costs” is necessary but not sufficient when we’re not prepared for all the costs.

iPhone : I believe these women. Antoinette. Hanan. Ivie. Olabisi. Oyinkan. Sinat. Winnie. Damola. Rufaro. Juliana. Mumbi. Chika. Senzeni. Josephine. Simi. Along with the women that have come forward in confidence, I admire their bravery and their brilliance.

iPhone : Black women are amongst the highest educated population in the world - and yet they are often passed over, taken for granted, discredited, and even sexualized as they try to build meaningful careers and lives for themselves.

iPhone : To Donate to their cause: ⁣

iPhone : These women have supported my career consistently and it’s my duty and honor to support them. If we claim to love and protect Black women, we must believe Black women and amplify Black women’s truth.⁣

iPhone : To close out our current partnership, I am demanding that OkayAfrica give 100% of all profits from the sale of my remaining merchandise in the OKAYSHOP to Antoinette, Hanan, Ivie, Olabisi, Oyinkan, Sinat, Winnie, Damola, Rufaro, Juliana, Mumbi, Chika, Senzeni, Josephine, & Simi.

iPhone : Effective immediately, I will no longer be doing any business with OkayAfrica. Once their demands are met (as outlined in their statement), I will determine if a future partnership is the best way forward.

iPhone : Too many men’s default setting is disbelief. Too many corporations create mountains for women to cross in order to be heard.⁣

iPhone : I believe these women. I admire these women. And I know their stories too well because they are the same as my friends, colleagues, lovers, sisters, mothers, aunties, and neighbors.

iPhone : LIVE NOW! Tune in to watch our #JoyIsResistance Concert in partnership with ぶろ City. The evening is hosted by Goapele, with new performances by @mannywellz, @mereba, and @jidenna!

iPhone : Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans in the US. Today, many Black Americans celebrate community, culture, food, family, and freedom. Food has always been a powerful vehicle for change. We’re humbled to play a small part.
