Isabel Hardman Us working in mental health can echo the disjointed and sometimes harmful way the gvnt have made cuts. Seeing patients we know could respond and get better with small input at start and seeing them be denied and then presenting months (or years) later far worse is heartbreaking

I really regret going back to work repeatedly when I was too mentally ill to do so and then letting colleagues down, often in a very messy and last minute fashion. I was desperate to be well and back working effectively but funnily enough my recovery was not linear and I couldn’t…

Find it hard to believe that a Dr working in the NHS particularly mental health has only just realised that the conservatives have massively reduced services. Did he avoid looking anyone in the eye for 14 years?

Where to even start with this. With everything going on in the world Rishi Sunak has decided that what is really needed is to beat up on people with disabilities. Just when you think they've gone low they somehow go lower

An important point about the PM's speech on the UK's 'sick note culture'.

He stated: 'Of those who are economically inactive, fully half say they have depression or anxiety.'...gov.uk/government/spe…

Outrageous. I think anyone working in mental health can talk about the dramatic impact Covid had on peoples MH. From increased anxiety, addictions serious mental illness. EVERY aspect of MH care went up and to not even acknowledge it is unacceptable

Also think of the mental health cost to both parents and children not having sure start centres. One of the most short sighted decisions the torys made and that's sayings something. A very preventable tragedy

Any nurses interested in pay scales please complete this online survey. For what its worth I feel we should be paying nurses more for nursing rather than forcing people down management route to get extra pay.

John-Barry The RCN UNISON - UK's largest union What I don't get, we have a university degree in adult nursing, so if you don't pay for your pin it's worth nothing?? Your registration should be included in your degree cost, once your registered that should be it. It's old fashioned.

John-Barry The RCN UNISON - UK's largest union Don’t forget to reclaim the fee as tax relief if you don’t already! Also don’t forget to claim tax relief on cleaning uniform - it’s able to be done and whilst it isn’t much, it helps

I know I say this every year but just got my yearly reminder that I have to PAY to be a nurse. I know there has to be a register bit with all the cost of living isn't this something that could be looked at? That and maybe a decent pay rise?
