Belfast Telegraph John Laverty Heartbreaking read… more of these stories need and deserve to be told, not to swirl up the past but to ensure that those who died are seen as people. Far too often we read a name in a paper and that’s all we think about, then move on forgetting the families left behind.
I didn't believe this story when my dad first told me about it in the late 1970s.
A few years later I researched it... and it's absolutely true.
