Labour's planning reforms will benefit residents and businesses across Bedfordshire. We need more affordable housing and space for businesses to expand whilst protecting the countryside and green spaces within our towns.

If the government really cared about getting people back to work they would be fixing our crumbling public services and improving access to treatment.

Britain deserves better than this cheap, cynical politics.

One of my missions is to put victims at the heart of the criminal justice system including policing. As Chair of the Bedfordshire Criminal Justice Board I will use the position to drive a cultural shift and improve performance across the system. I will engage victims in this.

We have had similar responses in Beech Hill, Dallow and Shefford today. Residents want and deserve change. They want and deserve effective community policing. They want and deserve to be and to feel safe. They want and deserve a serious PCC who will always be on their side.

I don’t think any comparable government has lost so many seats in a parliament… they had an 80 seat majority!

One of my missions is the prevention of crime and addressing causes of crime. Prevention is always preferable for everyone. We must understand the causes of crime and why people fall into criminal behaviour, and take appropriate action. We must learn from best practice elsewhere.
