May is Jewish Heritage Month. Toronto’s Jewish community has contributed so much to our city’s success, culture & quality of life. To experience an authentic Jewish brunch combined with live Klezmer, I suggest a visit to the Free Times Cafe on College, near the Kensington Market.

Overdose-related deaths is a serious problem in our country. In fact, it’s cost so many lives that playing partisan politics about it is fundamentally wrong. It’s OK to disagree on how best to address the problem. But let’s take it seriously- with the focus & attention it needs.

Anytime I can contribute City funds toward school field improvements I do. Communities just want them fixed. But really, the province has a responsibility to fix the funding formula & ensure school fields are maintained and buildings are in good repair- and with air conditioning.

Toronto and the GTA has a large and vibrant Sikh community. Today is Khalsa Day, during which thousands of people walk in a remarkable parade and take part in Seva- selfless, voluntary service, in the Gurdwara and throughout the community. It is a truly beautiful experience.

Enjoying coffee with good friends back at the Rustic Bakery this morning was the perfect way to start the day. It’s the kind of place where you always see people you know, and they’re excited to see you. There’s a really beautiful sense of community here in York South-Weston.

I’m so proud of my daughter. Molly chose to focus her school STEM project (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) on William P. Hubbard, the first Black member of Toronto city council and inventor of the Hubbard portable oven!

The Astral contract should be dumped at the earliest opportunity like the garbage their “street furniture” has been. Toronto deserves better.

A problem with the Ford government is that acting with “limited information” has either been the cause, or the contrived excuse, of many really bad decisions.
