Kudos to Kayla Engel for her efforts in coordinating the recent 2024 K-State High School Science Teacher of the Year event for the K-State Arts and Sciences departments of physics, K-State Chemistry, K-State Geology, and K-State Biology.
K-State HS Science Teachers of the Year awardees and students from Olathe Public Schools, Bishop Seabury, @tmpmarian, Hutchinson USD 308, @USD383, and @USD506 were laser focused as they toured our Macdonald Lab. They learned how we use state-of-the-art lasers to measure reactions of atoms.
Dean Zollman & Jackie Spears met up with alumna Jessica Dwyer ('15) in Illinois where Dwyer serves as SIU Carbondale Commander & Prof. of Aerospace Studies for Reserve Officer Training Corps. Dwyer spoke about her adventures being a U.S. Air Force #physicist during an eclipse event.
Congratulations to Shamna Trivedi on the successful completion of her MS thesis defense last Friday. Her project 'Constructing a digital in-line #holography set-up & analyzing particles with different characteristics' was mentored by Professor Matt Berg.
