This accords with my research into gendered abuse of women online. We need to pay attention to women's experiences of abuse - it has real impacts on decisions to take up sport, go into politics...

obvs this mirrors harmful societal views on gendered participation in sport and the many other sports adjacent spaces traditionally saved for cis men however we aren’t going see that kind of wider change if it’s not driven by the clubs that employ these athletes
