Had a lovely morning on our Teacher CPD: Textile Sculptures session. Experimenting using a material-led approach to produce a collaborative installation. Great discussions & ideas to take back to the classroom. Thanks Puy Soden for a great session. #YSP Schools #YSP Yorkshire Sculpture Park
A wonderful day spent at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park park with fellow creative practitioners, artists and teachers. Inspired by the Jonathan Baldock ‘Touch Wood’ exhibition, we created our own textile based sculptures. Lots of new ideas to bring into our art curriculum Kathryn Brame

Gorgeous screen prints made today by year 4 pupils from Morley Victoria PS primary school. Thanks to artist Sally Gilford for leading such a great session. 🤗 Year 4 #YSP Schools #YSP #moreartnotless
During our visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park today, we visited lots of interesting sculptures, discussed the materials and processes used and produced sketches of them using similar techniques to the original artists. #CopleyOpportunity #CopleyArt
We were given opportunity to try and become at one with the sculptures by attempting to recreate the abstract shapes that we could see before us! Yorkshire Sculpture Park #CopleyArt #CopleyOpportunity
Topaz were given modelling clay to create miniature sculptures inspired by the installations we had seen throughout the morning. Our ideas were wonderful including ‘stairway to heaven’ and a fixed broken heart to symbolise mended friendship! Yorkshire Sculpture Park #CopleyOpportunity
In the afternoon, as a year group, we used a variety of natural and man-made materials to build our own sculptures to fit a brief in groups. We were so impressed by the creativity and ingenuity on display! Yorkshire Sculpture Park #CopleyArt #CopleyOpportunity
Here are Topaz class’s finished sculptures based on ‘growing waterfall’, ‘melting storm’, ‘climbing glacier’ and ‘breathing mountain’. Can you work out which sculpture matches which title? Pupils gave brilliant critiques using lots of new vocabulary! Yorkshire Sculpture Park #CopleyArt
