EAC Secretary General Hon(Dr.)Peter Mutuku Mathuki today received the Minister of State of the German Federal Foreign Office, Katja Keul, at the EAC headquarters. They discussed strengthening trade and economic ties between EAC & Germany, and support to peace & security initiatives in the region.

🇩🇪 Min. of State Katja Keul has apologised for the atrocities inflicted on Tanzanians 🇹🇿 during Germany's #colonial rule. She acknowledged that many have been separated from their ancestors & denied burying rights, reiterating that 🇩🇪 will do its best to return ancestral remains.

In her speech, she reinstated Germany's #commitment to #cooperate with the Tanzanian government for the #restitution of human remains.
