Witnesses say Israeli soldiers separated a group of Palestinian men from women and children and then killed at least 11 of the men in front of their family.

The remaining family were either shot at or hit with a grenade, seriously injuring some, including an infant and a child.

“OHCHR has confirmed the killings…”

though not the other details. Still, the confirmation puts this massacre beyond the realm of rumor.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken just criticized other nations demanding a ceasefire, claiming he hears almost no calls for Hamas to lay down its arms and surrender. 'How can it be that there are no demands made of the aggressor and only demands made of the victim?'

.Chris Hayes: “There is no terrorist attack, no matter how horrific—and truly Oct. 7 was horrific—that can wash clean what we are seeing in Gaza and what we as Americans and our government are abetting. It must end. We must stop it.”

1/ Arendt's leeriness of the State of Israel went far deeper than any of her specific writings on Zionism from the 1930s and 1940s would suggest. It's at the heart of her most profound—and most Jewish—book, Eichmann in Jerusalem. Some excerpts from a piece I wrote 8 years ago.

So often the thing Israel accuses Palestinians of doing — in this case they said without evidence that Palestinian journalists were active Hamas collaborators and proceeded to kill more than 90 of them, including many of their families — Israel is actually doing itself. Here’s an

In 2016, John Fetterman vowed to lead a progressive movement and energized a rising left that swept him into the Senate

Now, he's 'not a progressive,' backing that up from Gaza to the Rio Grande

No wonder young people say they won't vote. My column ⬇️ inquirer.com/opinion/commen…

Behold the political genius of the Democratic Party: its progressive ambitions felled by half-measures & intransigence, having alienated much of its base through supporting genocide, now rushing to enact GOP border policy at the start of an election year. I am in awe.

Tonight, on my penultimate show: I'll speak exclusively to masha gessen, who won the Hannah Arendt Prize but then faced frenzied criticisms in Germany & controversy over the award ceremony because of Masha's New Yorker essay comparing Gaza to Nazi ghettoes.

8pm ET on MSNBC.

I worked on the Guatemalan truth commission where there was heated debate over whether the mass killing of Maya was ‘genocide’ or ‘counterinsurgency’ and distinction tween ‘motive’ and ‘intent.’ I think the concept, genocide, has problems. But this is genocide:

This is beyond unconscionable, pure barbarism. Bodies of wounded Palestinians and patients crushed by Israeli bulldozers at the Kamal Adwan Hospital. Palestinian journalist Anas Al-Sharif films the scene after the Israeli army has withdrawn, says stench of death is indescribable.

All I know is that if church leaders in the Middle East had announced that Hamas were surrounding a church and sniping and killing Christian women inside, & also forcibly displacing 54 disabled people taking shelter inside, Christian GOP politicians here would be going crazy.
