I join Kenyans in mourning the death of Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla in helicopter crash. It’s indeed a sad moment for Kenya. RIP General and all our Gallant Soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty! Our prayers to all the families of the fallen Heroes!

This week, CS The National Treasury & Economic Planning & I are leading the Kenya delegation in Washington DC to attend 2024 IMF World Bank Spring Meetings. Yesterday, I participated in a panel discussion on “Climate Voices: Working Together––Lessons from Costa Rica and Kenya”.

President William Ruto: I can now confidently say, Kenya is no longer on the list of countries that run the risk of debt default. Thanks to the collective effort by my team at Treasury and the whole government approach that has seen us reduce the accumulation of expensive debt

During the session, we also witnessed the signing of an MoU between the National Treasury and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance that will strengthen ties for industrial development and green growth as well as promote Japanese companies in Kenya.

1/3. Today, PS, Dr. Chris Kiptoo, Dr Chris Kiptoo, CBS, along with Mr. Atsuo Kuroda, CEO of Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI), signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Tokyo for the issuance of a Samurai Bond between the National Treasury and Economic Planning & NEXI.

We encourage our Diaspora to embrace and support our programme to digitalise government payments. This will eradicate corruption and enhance service delivery in our institutions;

Cabinet Secretary, Prof. Njuguna Ndung'u today hosted Ambassador Okinawa Ken of Japan. Joined by PS @kiptoock and a delegation from The Embassy of Japan in Kenya, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties and collaborate on finance, trade, infrastructure, and energy development.

PS,Dr Chris Kiptoo, CBS paid a courtesy call on the Hon Hon. Justice Martha K. Koome, EGH today.
