The Mayor of Kirklees welcomed players and members of Brothers Pearse GAA club to Huddersfield town hall to mark their 70th anniversary.
Cllr Cahal Burke presented the club with a special certificate and awards to long serving members.

The Mayor of Kirklees had a wonderful visit to Cleckheaton Library to meet volunteers and staff who are doing a fantastic job at the Grade II listed building.
Cllr Cahal Burke said it was great to see the library and all the different groups and activities taking place.

The Friends of Ireland traditional music session was held at the Grove in Huddersfield.
The Mayor of Kirklees was invited to listen to the traditional music and meet the some of the musicians

The Mayor of Kirklees opened Feature Flooring and Blinds' third showroom in the borough.
The company, which supplies carpets, blinds, flooring and curtains, invited The Mayor was interested to find out more about the company and helped welcome new customers to the store.

Huddersfield Civic Society's design awards made a triumphant return. The Mayor of Kirklees was invited to the 2024 ceremony and presented awards in the Best New Build, Best Shop Front, Best Refurbishment, Best Public/Commercial Development and Best Community Project categories.

The invaluable work of care assistants was recognised at the Caremark Carer of the Year Awards. The organisation enables many people to live independently in their homes.

The Mayor of Kirklees took the stage as he met students from Colne Valley High School.
During a special assembly he spoke about the role of the Mayor, democracy and citizenship. All the students participated and asked excellent questions.

Spring celebrations took place at Lindley Methodist Church as the sound of music filled the hall.
Marsh Ladies Choir, which celebrated a win at this year’s Mrs Sunderland Music Festival performed as well as Lindley Band.

Our borough is lucky to have many volunteers who give up their time to help in their communities.
The Mayor of Kirklees got to meet some of them at Batley Luncheon Club. He said he had a wonderful afternoon and it was great to meet all the volunteers who do such a wonderful job.

Holy Trinity Church hosted the Lindley Community Choir Memorial Concert with Members of Huddersfield Choral Youth Choir. The concert was dedicated to the memory of Steve Garrety a founder member of Lindley Community Choir. Proceeds went to ForgetMeNotChildren and The Kirkwood
