Today marks the 50th anniversary of the brutal attack on innocent civilians in #Qaladiza and University of #Sulaimani in 1974 — a calculated assault by the Ba’ath regime to eradicate the peaceful people of Kurdistan. Honoring all the lost lives and the resilience of survivors.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the bombardment of the city of Qaladiza and the university of Sulaimani by the former Iraqi regime. Peace be upon the souls of the martyrs of that tragedy and all of the martyrs of Kurdistan.

50 years ago today, the Ba'ath regime bombarded Qaladze, killing and wounding hundreds and forever changing the city.

They also shot at peaceful protestors who commemorated the attack in 1982.

The martyrs will never be forgotten; their sacrifices are part of our nation’s story.
