Do you have to play 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 golf to compete with Scottie Scheffler? 👀

Smylie Kaufman interviewed Justin Thomas for this week's The Smylie Show and his answer was...(spoiler: basically, yes)

I am exasperated at the inability of some people to read the tone and context here. He's not being serious! He's not talking about himself!

I see a lot of people on this app are confused about ...

1. How the Tour equity distribution was calculated.
2. JT's career.

or

3. Both.

I hear you, but I think what Scottie is doing right now is actually being a bit underrated. If this was Tiger, Rory or Spieth people would be absolutely losing their minds.

Among the current top 150 golfers on data golf, Scheffler is 69th in putting since January 1. Gaining not even a shot per tournament with his putter. Barely above average.

He's won four times and has seven top five finishes.

Insane stuff.

I don't believe Scottie is the best player since Tiger's greatest run of dominance ended (around 2008-2010). Not yet anyway.

What I do believe is that among the handful of players who are in that best-since-Tiger conversation -- DJ, Rory, Rahm, Spieth, Brooks, JT, Day, Phil etc.…

The ability to auto correct and make adjustments on the fly is the difference between the good and the great athletes. Tony Romo describes it perfectly here talking about Scottie👇

🚨 stat of the day

Scottie Scheffler consolidates even further his No.1 spot!

He just passed the 15 average points mark and has now more than double the number of points that Rory has at #2!

1. Scottie 15.016
2. Rory 7.365

These are features not seen since the Tiger era!
