It's that time of year again. The The Fire Fighters Charity Car Wash Season is once again upon us here in the #Croydon Borough. First up is #PurleyFireStation . Put the 12th of May into your Diary. Drive to Purley and have your car washed by Operational Firefighters for a small donation.

We are pleased to announce that today we have completed all 29 of the recommendations directed at London Fire Brigade from Phase 1 of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.

From corsets to driving in the Blitz and championing Black female firefighters - the cadets learnt about inspirational women who made the Brigade what it is today.

Yesterday, firefighters tackled a fire at a block of flats on Cherry Orchard Road in #Croydon .

Crews extinguished a small fire on a fourth floor balcony. Thankfully, there are no reports of any injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters rescued a dog from a fire at a flat in #Croydon . Two people were also treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a catastrophic failure of a lithium battery on a converted e-bike that was on charge.
