At Orases LYNX scholars learned, “find something that combines your passion, your art, and your career”. Students heard about sales, programming, and more! Students then worked in teams to write algorithms for a self-driving car! FCPS-MD Orases

Ira Sage from the Temple demonstrated for LYNX scholars how to be successful in the beauty industry. 'I learned it's really important to have a good consultation and to understand what the client wants. Really get to know your client by talking to them.'FCPS-MD

FHS alum Matt Sprague met with LYNX scholars to discuss the variety of careers in Photography. Students engaged in demonstrations using lighting equipment and were even able to receive advice from Matt’s professional eye on their own photos! FCPS-MD

LYNX scholars learned how architecture, engineering, and construction, “collaborate on a project to make everything work together” when they visited an in-progress build in downtown Frederick! FCPS-MD

LYNX scholars explorered historical architecture, roofing, window glazing, and masonry with experts from the National Park Services at their Historical Preservation Training Center! FCPS-MD #hptc

LYNX scholars interested in a career in baking and pastry making visited Piece O’ Cake to learn not only cake making and decorating skills, but also the importance of creating a consistent quality product! FCPS-MD Piece O' Cake, LLC

LYNX Scholars visited the MET to learn about theater careers, volunteer opportunities, and apprenticeships! 'Theater is fun! And it has very diverse job opportunities. The experience taught me there are options behind the curtains that aren't talked about.'FCPS-MD

The FCWS team participated in mock interviews at LYNX FHS FCPS-MD last week. We were blown away by the preparedness, professionalism, and maturity these students displayed in the interviews. These students have a lot to offer an employer! #InterviewSkills #CareerReadiness
