I am excited to share my most recent work from Iain Cheeseman’s lab, in which we harness context-specific genetic requirements to identify a new regulator of cohesin and genome integrity! Please join me for a 🧵

So pumped to be a part of the inaugural class of RCSA fellows! Special thanks to Amanda Hargrove for the nomination. Major thanks also to Franz Lab & Duke University Chemistry for the constant support. Can't wait to meet the other fellows in May!
🎉Congrats to Simón(e) Sun, PhD \ simonesun.bsky.social & Dan Levenstein for their paper in Cell Reports! They identify a multiphasic mechanism for synaptic adaptation to neuronal inactivity that leaves the window open for neuronal plasticity. Read more here cell.com/cell-reports/f…
And it's #tweetprint week! A preprint from my work as a postdoc in Tiffany Schmidt lab. We studied retinal function in a mouse model of #Autism and found dampened sensitivity to light in a type neuron in the retina.

Excited to share our new preprint where we uncovered how inhibitory interneurons in the retina process color information in their dendrites.

So excited to share Sarah Soliman’s new inducible systems for controlling mESC behavior! Sarah built these systems as a stepping stone to studies of tissue organization, but as our neighboring labs began to make use of these tools we knew it was time to share them with the world!

Dystonia Medical Research Foundation selected our proposal 'Relationship between cerebellar Purkinje and nuclei cell spike signals in dystonia' for funding.
We are looking forward to work with DMRF towards our common goal of finding new therapies for dystonia.
