Stand your ground, tell customer services, and get the difference back!

🗓️ Today is the 7th anniversary of the two-child limit to benefit payments.

7 years of families being subjected to the limit to benefit payments and being pushed into poverty.

🗣️ In this election year all parties must commit to scrapping this unfair sibling tax.

How have we got to 2024, where more of us need to rely on food banks to survive day to day life? Sadly, we see this every day 😪

2023 was a record year. We helped 5711 people with gains of £8,767,406 out of poverty. Most help has been by face to face support in person. You can't beat that touch. 2024 is just as busy. Our team is here and ready to serve as ever.

Disgusting - renters must be given rights and protections against no-fault evictions. Homelessness presentations as a result of S21s are on the up, and the threat of losing their home with no recourse looms over tenants living in sub-par quality homes, paying extortionate rents.

Running the numbers on the abolition of the £90 fee for Debt Relief Orders. Budget papers say the cost is £5 million per year = 55,555 DROs. That's a 75% increase on the number of DROs in 2023. How will the extra demand be met by Approved Intermediaries (i.e., debt advisers)?

Right to Buy needs to be abolished.

A whopping 40 per cent of houses sold via Right to Buy are now in the hands of landlords - a factor in the housing crisis we see today.

This massive transference of wealth from the commonweal to private hands has been an unmitigated disaster.

Great news re: abolishing the DRO fee today. Debt limit rising to £50k and value of car up to £4k. All great more great news!

I wonder if anyone will fund all the extra work that will come through our doors! Funding is so important to keep helping those who need it.

National Insurance cut in April by 2% for working people and the self employed. So that is a tax cut for WORKING PEOPLE (not pensioners) by another name.

Nom Doms are those who live in UK but come from outside, so pay UK tax only on their UK earnings.

'Govt will abolish current tax system for non-doms, get rid of the outdated concept of domicile. We will replace the non dom regime with a modern simpler and fairer residency…

Some asking will benefits rise. We already know they're going up by 6.7% in April, this will be welcome, though it does not catch up with the prior year inflation hikes.
