Had a group from the US on a history tour around the North Inner City talking about changes from the 1930s tenements into the new social housing flat complex’s. They were shocked at the history of Irelands industrial schools & Magdillon Laundries, & many other social issues.

James Connolly was executed by British Crown forces 12th May 1916 (aged 47) in Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin, Ireland.
His daughter Nora recalls visiting her father James with her mother as he lay wounded in Dublin Castle.

Had a brilliant group today on the Monto walking tour. We finished on Sean MacDermott Street outside the old IRA safe house once owned by Sean Fitzpatrick, it was in this house two of Michael Collins’s men were captured in 1920 by the Black and Tans.
