📢 Statement of Opinion | Fair Pay for Homelessness & Housing Support Workers
record.senedd.wales/StatementOfOpi…
Great to see this Statement of Opinion tabled by Mabon ap Gwynfor AS 🏴 & Carolyn Thomas MS / AS. Both have been vocal about the need to increase the HSG and pay these amazing workers a fair wage.
#HousingMatters - We pay Real Living Wage and we WILL continue to do so - but it means that we will have to withdraw from some work if the HSG budget isn’t increased to reflect COL and cost of RLW - this work by Cymorth Cymru is important cymorthcymru.org.uk/welsh-governme…

We’ve been a very patient sector with only 1 inflationary in 14 years, yet we are saving the public purse millions each year.
Enough is enough-Our sector saves lives!
Without an increase in Welsh Government #HousingSupportGrant inevitably the work will stop
Excellent article on the very worrying challenges facing the Welsh homelessness & housing support sector, highlighting the impact of lack of funding on the lives of both those in housing need & those who work with them. Well done Katie Dalton Dr Lindsay.Cordery-Bruce for speaking out.
Angry. Upset. Disheartened.
I speak to frontline homelessness and housing support workers on a regular basis. They are incredible and do such complex, skilled, traumatic jobs.
I hoped that sharing this data with Vaughan Gething 🏴 would spark a response to address this issue.
To be clear.
The Welsh Labour Senedd election manifesto committed to paying the Real Living Wage to care workers.
This is repeated in the Programme for Government.
On 22nd April and 15th July 2021, Ministers told us this would include homelessness and housing support workers.
