Today is #LongCovid AwarenessDay . I'm a Stanford-trained physician, but bc of #LongCovid I haven't been able to work as a doctor for three years and four days.

There are NO validated treatments. No cure. Patients are trial-and-erroring their way through. We need answers.

We cannot ignore the public health crisis that is Long COVID. On Long COVID Awareness Day, let us commit to doing everything we can to address this horrible condition. The U.S. government must do more to increase awareness and provide additional resources to develop treatments.

I wrote about NPR 's decision to frame disabled people's ongoing exclusion from all public spaces as an annoyance to be navigated by individuals, rather than a massive civil rights violation to be challenged by the collective.

When many people state that lockdowns caused the deepest depression they’ve ever experienced, just a reminder that many disabled people are still in lockdown, four years later. Isolation is a form of torture. I want to live in a world where disabled people are wanted in society.

The severe lack of appreciation for how this virus has disrupted the nervous system of thousands is astounding. To call for no isolation is beyond extreme and irresponsible.

CDC:
'Too many people are off work -> no need to isolate even if you're infectious'
= infectious people returning to work/school
= more people infected
= more people ill (acutely and chronically)
= more people off work

Make it make sense.
