SCBWI British Isles It is chaos, I am usually working on a few projects at a time and I work in very intense bursts between looking after children and pets and the never ending pile of laundry.
SCBWI British Isles Because I'm neurodivergent myself my characters tend to be too. It's my normal!
Rory has ADHD, so does his mum, and his little band of friends are all neurospicy.
SCBWI British Isles The beginnings of a plot came first..I conned my toddlers into eating dinner by calling it #DinosaurPie , then wrote a poem about it.
The characters and setting developed years later when the poem grew into a book.

One of my favourites is Siobhán Parkinson's Sisters... No way!
Tells the story of Cindy and Ashling as their families coalesce and move in together, written from the perspective of both girls. All under 230 pages!
