Excellent day presenting and discussing today with colleagues at University of Chester. Always good to catch up with old friends and meet new colleagues. Lots of take aways & a reminder of how important development time really is.

Really glad I made it to this lecture - reminded me of the benefits of learning beyond our immediate disciplines. Particularly interested in the synergies between strategies for change in agriculture & in education, especially noted the need for us to notice who is represented in…

A few of us are in the middle of a systematic mapping based on abstracts - our job would be so much more straightforward if abstracts were written in this way. Sometimes efforts to be novel really do cause confusion (for me at least!).

I always watch with interest on the discussions about what colleagues are reading (personal and professional), so I’m sharing our latest book delivery 📚 🚚 to inspire our new revalidated PgC and accreditation scheme. Despite my tech habit I’m not ready to give up paper books!

Fabulous couple of days of walking in the Peak District. This time last year I struggled to walk between buildings on campus because of an injury. I will be forever grateful for the surgery that allowed me to have days like this back 🦶 🌞 ⛰️ 🐶

Two days on our PgC talking assessment and feedback and using our new, snazzy/glossy TopTrump assessment cards to provoke discussion. Great to finally get to use these . An examination of the cards we rejected (the ‘I’d never do that list’) demonstrated how our assessment choices…

Nice piece reinforcing the value of ‘the middle’ in an organisation- middle managers ‘absorb’ challenges & pressures from both above & below so it’s positive to see this role recognised. Particularly like the recognition of everyday interactions as setting the tone for culture.

Led a class exercise to make 'Digital Top Trumps' where students design future digital skills cards, influenced by their views, research & AI. They rated these skills by difficulty and growth opportunities. The result? a GPT wordcloud. A productive way to explore digital skills.
