A few highlights of many to come from last nights panel discussion, “Reflections of the Black Military Experience.”

We sincerely thank Glenn Jones, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, President Tanisha Sullivan, NAACP NEAC, and most importantly, our esteemed panelists for sharing their stories.

Prince Hall, a public education lobbyist, established a home school in Beacon Hill for his son after being denied equal access. This evolved into the Abiel Smith School, now housing the Museum of African American History. Hall's influence led to the creation of Prince Hall Freemasonry.

Black history is Massachusetts history. It’s American history, and we should learn it, embrace it, and honor it in all its unrevised truth.

It was great to visit Museum of African American History with the Cabinet and swear-in President and CEO Dr. Noelle Trent to the America250 Commission.
