Rappresenta un uomo di età avanzata identificabile in Aulo Metello, vista l’incisione presente sul lembo della toga.

For #SpoliaSunday we're off to the MAF_Firenze to admire this upcycled ancient #bronze statue of a lamp-bearer, found in #Pesaro in the lands of the #dellaRovere duchy of #Urbino and sent to #Florence as a wedding gift from the duke to his heiress in 1630.

🤓La cerámica etrusca más conocida es el 'bucchero nero', pero también imitaban formas de lo que les llegaba de manera directa e indirecta por mar y tierra de sitios como Corinto (Grecia). Esta procede de la Necropoli delle Ficaie y está en el MAF_Firenze 😋

Entre les pétales émergent des petites palmettes, fleurs de lys stylisées, sans rapport naturel avec le lotus qui les abrite. Il s'agit peut-être d'un objet d'offrande. Un 2e exemplaire existe au MAF_Firenze.
