That man has incredible motivation and staying power. And enduring talent. Exceptional, in any sport, in any era.

Those maverick days in F1 were great. Risk taking ambition and determination winning out over boring old common sense.

I’m sorry to hear that too Stavros. Worked with Denys when I was Chairman of the Board at the BRDC, owners of Silverstone, and he has to take some credit for the F1 British GP and many other key races we enjoy today. As you say, smart guy.

Congratulations to Ollie Bearman Brilliant drive in Jeddah this evening. Kept it on the road, out of the wicked walls, and stayed well in touch with, and ahead of, truly world class drivers. Superb first F1 GP, of many I have no doubt.

We lost someone really special to us at the end of last year, he was a dear friend of mine and he’d been with me pretty much since I came into Formula 1. Someone who I not only had many laughs and great times with, but someone who helped me out on and off the track whenever I…

The F1 season is underway. Let’s hope many teams have closed the gap to Red Bull. We’re about to find out over the next three days, followed by a relentless 24 event season finishing a few weeks before Christmas. Stamina is a word which springs to mind, for everyone involved

That’s really sad about Steve Wright. Never got to meet him, but listened to him in the car or at home for decades. He owned afternoons, a consummate and funny broadcaster.

The Aston looking classy. Teams should be rewarded with a weight allowance for more complete liveries which will stand out on track for spectators and viewers. The field should look dynamic, it’s F1. Some of them look glum and half finished.

I know a little about TV after 27 years but if you’re UK based Monty Don is a genius broadcaster. And I don’t even like gardening.

I’m so looking forward to this. We’ve asked him for years about it and he seemed nailed on at Merc for life, and always dismissive of moving. Hamilton and Leclerc in scarlet, that’s a story.

Always significant when the departing person is not quoted in the press release, tells you there’s friction, suspect we’ll hear more about this. The team hasn’t progressed in recent seasons, but hard to know exactly why without being on the inside. Good luck Guenther. And Haas

Perfectly summed up by Roger Penske. You won’t find anyone in motorsport who didn’t like, admire, and respect Gil. A true friend, brilliant racer, and a professional. This is a shocker 😢. Our family condolences to Angela, Anna, Luke, and all of Gil’s family and friends. RIP Gil

A couple of my old mates in F1 media produce this every race, it’s very good, with background and historical stories too. Great present for an F1 fan. And no, I’m not involved in any way whatsoever, in fact they are rivals really. But I like their dedication and passion for F1
