Excited to be invited to speak in Daejeon Korea at Korean society for endolaparoscopic and robotic surgery on behalf of our exciting UGI research program Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences. With my good friends and mentors MarkvanBergeHenegouwen George Hanna
Looking forward to innovative talks and a deep dive into all things esophagus (including a Motility-focused session to kick things off!) at @OESO’s World Conference #Esophagus2024
Fantastic opportunity to undertake a great project. Led by my great friend and outstanding academic OG surgical colleague Nima Abbassi-Ghadi! Really a wonderful opportunity for a high quality PhD!!
That’s a wrap. Wonderful American Surgical meeting in beautiful Washington. My pleasure to share this with jeremielefevre! Both of us mentored by Christophe Mariette, his influence on European surgical academia is still with us today.
I stayed another night to hear my friend Sheraz Markar talk and leverage MIE for such a complex and relentless disease. Worth it!
Dr. Markar and team present their work titled 'The Prognostic Impact of Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy on Survival after Esophagectomy Following a Delayed Interval after Chemoradiotherapy: A Secondary Analysis of the DICE Study' #AmerSurg24
My great pleasure to give this talk on behalf of the DICE study group. Many thanks to American Surgical for the invitation. ISDE.net Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences
Very interesting talk American Surgical on the ‘cost’ of being an academic surgeon. Would be interesting to a similar study in a socialised healthcare system such as the UK.
Great to see this excellent FU from the ENSURE study showing the prognostic benefits of MIE compare to open esophagectomy led by our superb PhD students sofie Henckens and nannet Schuring.
