Thursday continues to be a day where the forcing (oomph) – an upper-air disturbance – looks to arrive just in time to generate dryline supercells in the 6 to 8 p.m. window.

Liking the look of setting up somewhere between Dodge City, Kansas and Shamrock, Texas.

Today is Earth Day, and we’re also days away from a dramatic uptick in severe weather odds for the nation’s Heartland.

The atmosphere is chaotic, beautiful, elegant and destructive.

No matter what the atmosphere does, we’ll be with you every step of the way.

Anyone remember this? A year ago today, we had a quick-hitting, low-topped QLCS come through the Mid-Atlantic around lunchtime.

The northern bookend vortex prompted a tornado warning in Culpeper County (I was at home), then dropped an EF0 in Poolesville.

Good morning, Dallas! The Metroplex is looking fine this morning!

Love Field saw 4.22 inches of rain yesterday as downpours trained, or moved repeatedly, over the airport. (Previous daily record was 2.09 inches).

Back to Kansas I go! Stormy pattern arrives Thursday. ✈️

If you’re at Fiesta in San Antonio, head indoors ASAP — severe thunderstorm warning is in effect. Lots of folks outside and the lightning threat with this storm is significant.

Matthew Cappucci is at “the most haunted hotel in America” with a firsthand view:

All that rain and lightning over DFW means that most American flights are cancelled. The ground stop through 9:15 a.m. will likely be extended or reissued. Average delays are 91 minutes.

Guess who has to spend another night at the haunted hotel? 🙃 Me.

Trying again tomorrow.
